Favorite Magnesium Rich Foods
Plus Chocolate Mousse Recipe!
Although I do think it's necessary to supplement with magnesium, I think it's also important to eat magnesium rich foods daily too.
We may not be getting as much nutrients in our food as we once were before over-farming of the soil but there must still be some good stuff in there, right! ;)
Here are some of my favorite magnesium rich foods,

- Spinach
- Swiss chard
- Kale
- Nuts and Seeds
- Dark Chocolate
- Raw Cacao
- Figs
- Avocado
- Buckwheat
- Goat Cheese
- Brown Rice
- Artichoke
CHOCOLATE AVOCADO MOUSSE
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 medium ripe avocados (pits removed)
- 6–7 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 6–8 Tablespoons pure maple syrup or 6 -8 softened pitted dates
- 6–8 Tablespoons unsweetened almond milk or your favorite milk
- 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
RECIPE:
- Slice your avocados in half, remove the pit. Scoop the avocado into a food processor or blender, Toss the skin and pits.
- Add 6 Tbsp. cocoa powder, 6 Tbsp. syrup, 6 Tbsp. milk, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, and 1/8 tsp. salt to the food processor.
- Puree until the mixture is smooth and velvety. Taste and add more syrup or milk if needed to get the right texture and taste.
- Refrigerate in an airtight glass container or individual dessert dishes.
- After about an hour it's ready to serve. Will last in the refrigerator for about 3 days if it even lasts that long, lol. It's so good.
- Optional: Top with fresh whipped cream or whipped coconut cream, fresh fruit- raspberries, strawberries or even bananas taste great.
There is about 66 mg of magnesium (16%) , 635 mg (14%) potassium , 113 mg (9%) calcium and 7 g (25%) fiber in this recipe.
I'm not a recipe creator so I haven't figured out all the nutrient content of this recipe, just what is included above.
